Two theoretical agendas underpin my ongoing research: refining the Global Production Networks (GPN) framework for analysing subnational regional development, & conceptualising the state’s roles in the urban process of capital accumulation.
Empirical
Following more than a decade of research on urban & regional development in China, I am currently collaborating on multiple projects in Brazil, India, the European Union, the UK & the USA.
Methodological
My research is actualised through two methodological approaches: framing urban & regional economic evolution as a dialectical process, & problematising contemporary developmental issues through genealogical analyses.
My engagement with debates at the forefront of economic-geographical research is underpinned by a corpus of work that currently comprises 2 monographs, 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and 5 book chapters.
